To become an Official Advisor or appointed as a Board Director or Decision Maker you need to write up a bio and send it to us asking to be appointed. Just join the recruitment email group and send your information there and communicate with us to finalize the appointment process. Don’t include anything in your bio or communications that you don’t want public as everythign is transparent and publicly accountable. There are various options which we will go over here.
HR Board
You can also be appointed to the HR Board and oversee budgets and personnel policies. The HR Board is responsible for ensuring that workers achieve the client work income requirements as well as working towards a balanced budget. The time commitment is very low, just 1-6 hours per month. HR Board Decision Makers can get a small stipend between $10-$80/month. Typically it takes 2 weeks to 2 months to be added to the HR Board.
Organization Advisor
Official Advisors to the organization are officially appointed by the Membership, although can temporarily be appointed by the Board of Directors. All that is required is your bio and it can take anywhere from 2 to 6 months to be finalized. Advisors can advice and make recommendations as well as do advisory votes on all proposals presented to the Board of Directors, but have no official or legal liability for decisions made. The time commitment is very low as needed. Currently this is a equity only or volunteer position.
Board Director
To become a Board Director you must be appointed by and accountable to the Membership. Board Directors are required to make legally binding decisions, and are legally liable for decisions that are made on behalf of the organization. Board Directors take on Fiduciary Duties and must make decisions in the best interest of the organization. The membership officially meets only once per year, so the process can take up to a year unless there is a emergency proposal that either is made via online vote or an emergency session of the Membership is called. Board Directors are only a volunteer position.
